Larry has practiced as a trial lawyer for over 30 years. He has wide experience in commercial litigation, contract disputes, computer and website litigation, insurance law, personal injury claims, tort law, real estate litigation, carriage claims and employment law. He acts as trial counsel on referral from lawyers and a wide range of companies and community contacts, both national and international. He has appeared at all levels of courts in this country – Superior Court, Ontario Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court, both appeal and trial division, and Supreme Court of Canada. He is experienced in arbitrations, mediations, fair market valuation proceedings and other methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Larry was called to the Ontario Bar in 1977. He received his honours history degree from Queen’s University in 1972. He is a former partner of Bassell Sullivan and Leake and a founding partner of Bennett Best Burn LLP. He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association. He has co-chaired lectures in the Law Society of Upper Canada continuing education program and has authored papers for trade associations and other interest groups.
Larry serves on the boards of directors and committees of not for profit organizations, including sports clubs, cottage associations and faith groups. He is knowledgeable and experienced in the governance of not for profit corporations.
