Background:
Ross practices primarily in the field of family law; custody, access, child and spousal support and property division on separation and divorce. In 1991 he was certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Family Law and re-certified in 1996. He is available for mediation of family law disputes. An active member of the Ontario Bar Association, he has chaired the Family Law Section (1983-1985), Law Reform Committee (1985-1986), Law Day Committee (1991-1994) and most recently chaired the OBA's Continuing Legal Education Committee (CLE) (1995-1998). Ross is the treasurer of the Family Law Committee (Toronto Region), an instructor in the Bar Admission Course and a Dispute Resolution Officer with the Superior Court of Justice. Ross has co-chaired several province-wide education programs for Ontario lawyers on Child Support Guidelines and another on Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines. Ross has a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Trent University and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. A published author, he co-edited the Divorce Practice Manual (2nd ed.), has been published in the Canadian Family Law Quarterly and is a frequent chair and participant in CLE programming.
